This 6 800ha Game Reserve, is a jewel in the hart of the bush veld. It was already late in the afternoon when we drove by and decided to pop in to take some photos for you. We didn't have time to take more than a few pictures before dark, mostly of the accommodation.

Their are 28 species of game and 260 species of birds at Jobedi Game Reserve. You can book for a game drive, or go on self drive game drives, a guided bush walk, fishing, relax next to the swimming pool, or visit the ladies bar.

Experience the bush veld, while you challenge the Waterberg Mountains with your 4x4. This is a hard-core and demanding route, over 45km on an area of 6 800ha, for those not afraid of spending the whole day negotiating a trail. The trails are well-marked. Only 4x4's are allowed on the 4x4 route, and they guarantee that you won't fall asleep on this route.
Driving on the 4x2 route is fairly easy, interrupted by challenging obstacles. 4x2 vehicles with high ground clearance will easily complete this route.
The routes go through scenic surroundings, open savannah plains, bush that varies from pristine to ravine, steep ascents and descents, crossing rivers and loose rock, panoramic view from the mountains too great for words.

Their accommodation vary from Camping, Chalets, Rock Cottages, Rondavels, and Bush Camps for up to 10 people. The bush camps are between 12 - 16 km's from the main lodge.

Jobedi Game Reserve is an ideal get away for the intire family.

Ons het gister die pad gevat, en besluit om by Waterberg Natuurpraal 'n draai te gaan maak, sodat ons julle meer oor hierdie vakansie oord kan vertel. Met die intrapslag is ons baie hartlik ontvang deur Renier en Dina wat die oord bestuur, en wat 'n aangename rustige oggend het ons beleef terwyl ons rondloop en foto's neem!

Waterberg Natuurpraal se selfsorg chalets en rondawels (Bring asseblief net jou eie handdoeke. Beddegoed, eetgerei, ens. word voorsien), en woonwa park is omring deur bosveld bome en die mooiste natuur. Hier kan jy heerlik ontspan en rus en rus en rus.

Vir die meer aktiewe vakansiegangers is daar staproetes, perderitte, tennis, put put, 'n vermaaklikheids lokaal met pool tafel en speletjies, 'n onderdak warm water swembad, koue swembad buite en selfs 'n jacuzzi. Wildritte kan ook gereël word. As jy van visvang hou, kan jy in die Palala rivier wat deur Waterberg Natuurpraal loop gaan lyn nat maak, en moontlik selfs 'n seekoei of 'n krododil te siene kry.

Indien ma die slag nie lus is om kos te maak nie, kan ligte etes op bestelling voorsien word. 'n Kiosk is ook beskikbaar, en moenie van Waterberg Natuurpraal se lapa vergeet as jy weer 'n funksie wil hou nie. Die lapa is groot genoeg vir ongeveer 100 mense.

Na al die gestappery, het ons by ontvangs op die stoep gaan sit en ontspan, en is sowaar verras deur die besoek van 'n mak vlakvark familie. Julle sal hulle op die foto's sien. Daar is ook 'n plaaswerf waar hulle plaasdiere aanhou, en poue loop rustig op die oord rond.

Renier sê groepbesprekings en skoolgroepe is ook baie welkom op Waterberg Natuurpraal, hier is definitief genoeg aktiwiteit om die jong klomp mee besig te hou.

Feta, Cheddar, Picorino, Garlic Pepper, Gouda, Cottage, Philadephia en Halloumi. Ek het nooit gedink daar word soveel verskillende soorte kaas van bokmelk gemaak nie. Ongelukkig kon ons nie bokmelk proe nie, aangesien die bokke nie in Junie en Julie gemelk word nie.Ons het dus ook die Bokmelk Toer gemis, waaroor ons natuurlik baie spyt was. Christo het ons egter genooi om later vanjaar weer 'n draai te kom maak, en dan gaan ons vir julle foto's neem van die melkery.

Die bokmelk toer word stiptelik om 15h00 uur begin. Volwassenes R25,00 en kinders R20,00. Die bokke word gestimuleer deur musiek, (klassieke, Afrikaanse en selfs boere musiek) tydens die melkproses. Christo sê sy bokke is Afrikaanse bokke! Daar is blykbaar wetenskaplik bewys dat 200 bokke 20 liter melk minder gee sonder musiek. Wie sou dit ooit kon dink! Na die melkery word die basiese vervaardiging van kaas gedemonstreer, en daarna kan kinders teen 'n fooi die bokke voer.

Moenie hierna verdwyn nie, besoek gerus die teetuin. Die kaasproe is 'n moet, die kelner verduidelik baie professioneel watter soort kaas waar op die bord is, en as jy besluit het watter kaas vir jou die lekkerste is, kan jy selfs daarvan koop en huis toe neem. Pa kan ook sy biertjie geniet, terwyl die gesin by die restaurant a la carte sommer hulle aandete bestel.

Hierdie belewenis is 'n moet as jy in die omgewing vakansie hou.

Terwyl ek in Klein Karieba vakansie gehou het, het ek op die web afgekom op Shingwedzi. Die pragtige plaas is so omtrent 'n uur se ry vanaf Warmbad. Ek het die oggend vroeg vertrek en was voor 8uur op die plaas. Ek kon toe op my tyd na die jagluipers kyk. Ek het egter geen idee gehad wat op my wag nie.

Die cheetah run was ongelooflik en mensig my kamera was te stadig. Hierdie pragtige diere kan hardloop. Ons het dit geweldig geniet.

Toe kry ek 'n heerlike ontbyt en weer tyd om rond te dwaal. Zulu is die ambasedeur van die plaas en is hy nie mooi nie.

Ons het toe vertrek op "feeding drive" waar ons verskillende aasvoëls gesien het. Ons gids was goed ingelig en kon ons ten volle inlig.

Daar is omtrent net vyftig King cheetahs in die wêreld. Hulle het 3 van die vyftig daar.

Ons het die wilde honde en die tierboskat besoek.

Dit was 'n ongelooflike ervaring wat ek vir enige iemand hierdie wonderlike ervaring aanbeveel.

Hulle het ook verblyf beskikbaar vir enige iemand wat wil wegkom vir 'n rukkie.

As jy iemand is, wat soos ek, daarvan hou om so min moontlik op vakansie te doen, is Swadini net die plek vir jou!

Jy kan lekker ontspan met 'n boek in jou hand, Soduko of 'n Bord speletjie. Daar is 'n heerlike warm water Swembad op die kampterein asook koue water.

As jy dalk jou beligting vir die vakansie by die huis vergeet het, daar is 'n handelaar wat alles voorsien om gou weer 'n ander een aan mekaar te sit, alle kamp benodighede, lekkernye en geskenkies kan by die winkeltjie aangeskaf word.

In die omgewing is daar ook 'n museum wat jy kan besoek.

As jy nog nie by Boesmansnek was nie- het jy nog nie mooi gesien nie!! Dis Asemrowend!!
In die hartjie van die Drakensberge lê die mooi natuurtoneel. Vroeg oggend lê die mis soos 'n wol kombers oor die berge, soos iets uit 'n sprokie. Wintermaande word die mis vervang met sneeu, en waar om dan anders te wees as voor 'n warm kaggelvuur.

Die selfsorg eenhede is pragtig toegerus en prakties, skoonmakers kom ook elke oggend in om toe te sien dat alles skoon en netjies is vir die res van die dag. Terwyl manlief afkoel in die swembad kan jy heerlik lê en ontspan met 'n eksotiese Skemerkelkie.

As jy iemand is vir bietjie avontuur is daar perderitte, begeleide staptoere na Boesmantekeninge en Quad-bikes om die wêreld te verken. Die vakansie oord maak ook voorsienning vir kampeerders.

Op die oord self is daar ook 'n restaurant wat heerlike maaltye voorberei en 'n kontantkroeg, as jy besluit om bietjie vir vroulief te bederf met ontbyt in die bed, kamerdiens is ook beskikbaar. Om nie met die bondel wasgoed huis toe te gaan waarna ons almal altyd so opsien nie, is daar ook dienste beskikbaar.

Alles onder een dak- wat wil jy meer hê as dit??

As jy iemand is vir die plaas lewe is Midlands Saddle and Trout net die plek vir jou!
Geleë aan die voet van die Drakensberge lê die pragtige vakansie oord met sy selfsorg eenhede.

Met 'n warm verwelkoming word ons vergesel na ons eenheid, in die sitkamer is daar 'n kaggel wat voorsienning maak vir hitte in die koue, nat, reënirige somers soos mens dit net in die Drakensberge kry.
Vanuit die sitkamer is daar 'n glas deur wat uitloop op 'n patio wat uitkyk oor die pragtige landskap van Midlands Saddle and Trout, daar word ook die braaigeriewe aangetref, privaat en afgesonder van die ander eenhede rondom.

Perderitte, Staproetes en natuurlik Forelvang is op die lys van buitelug aktiwiteite. Verder kan jy vermaak word deur die Zulu danse wat saans om die Tradisionele "Bon Fire" gehou word.
As jy nie een is vir al die bedrywighede nie kan jy net lekker ontspan langs die swembad.

Sabie River Camp

Niks is lekkerder as daardie impulsiewe vinnige wegbreek nie. En waar anders as in die Sabie omgewing, by Sabie River Camp. Die foto's spreek vanself, dis skoon en netjies en die omgewing is oorlaai met natuurskoon tonele. Die kamp plek is sentraal geleë en omring met toeriste aantreklikhede waarvan die Lone Creek Waterval een van vele is. Die omgewing is stil en rustig, soos meeste van ons dit verkies wanneer ons vakansie hou- of sommer net wil wegbreek.

Na net een nag se oorslaap by die Sabie River Camp het ek weer soos 'n nuwe mens gevoel.

Gaan besoek gerus die rustige en natuurskoon kampplek en ondek weer jouself.

It was a rainy Saturday in April 2010 when we visited Waterbok Oord.

There are a variety of bush veld birds for the bird lovers, and a 5km hiking trail between the koppies. We didn't try it, because of the rain, but would love to next time. The function hall was the ideal hiding place against the rain. Naomi said that they do birthday parties, weddings, any functions, big or small at Waterbok Oord, for up to 150 guests.

The first church in Vaalwater was built in 1932, and is situated on Waterbok Oord. There is accommodation for up to 160 guests, 80 in chalets and rondavels, and 80 in the caravan park. The ideal place for a all in one getaway wedding with your family and friends.

You can go on pre-arranged game drives on a nearby game farm, where you can see rhino's, giraffes, buffalo's, and a variety of bucks. Don't forget your fishing tackle if you like fishing, maybe you can catch a bream, bass or carp.

Do you like golf? Waterbok Oord has a 9 hole bush veld mashi golf course, Par 3 and par 4. Golf clubs and balls are available.

If you like a quiet, peace full holiday, Waterbok Oord is just the place for you.
